Bursting The Myth – Vedanta, a nice post retirement hobby by Smt. Rama Sivaraman

Sri P V Shivarama Deekshithar Centenary Memorial Talk is a memorial talk being organized by Advaita Academy in collaboration with P S Ramanathan and P S Somasekharan in the memory of their father, Sri P V Shivarama Deekshithar. As part of this memorial talk series, the first talk is being delivered by Smt. Rama Sivaraman, who will burst the popular misconception that pursuit of Vedanta is a hobby for the retired people.




Smt. Rama Sivaraman


Smt. Rama Sivaraman has been a student of Swami Paramarthananda ( from 2004 onwards. Over the years, she has been learning the Gita, Upanishads, Brahmasutras, and various other Advaitic works referred as prakarana granthas under Swamiji in a consistent and systematic manner. Swami Paramarthananda was a student of Swami Dayananda Saraswati and foloows Sankara's Advaita Vedanta. Rama Sivaraman has conducted several introductory courses on Vedanta. She has also conducted courses in management schools and addresses professionals in organizations on this subject. She is very keen to create awareness around the Hindu way of life so that people would have a choice to follow the spiritual or religious way of life along side their daily chores should they desire to. She started teaching, "Understanding Gita verse by verse" through Vyoma Linguistics Lab in 2018, she continues to teach this course every Sunday. All her classes are based on Swamiji's teachings. Rama was an executive director, COO and on the board of a large Global IT services organization. She has diverse and varied experience of over 25 years spanning Stratergy, Operations management and M & A. Rama is an Engineer and MBA from College of Engineering Guindy. She is currently Managing Director of a NewYork based start-up. Rama is on the Advisory Board of Vyoma Linguistic Labs Foundation(; a non profit Sanskrit E-Learning company; transforming lives through Samskrta-Samskriti-Samskara consciousness.
