Mahabharat is one of the two major Sanskrit epics of ancient India, the other being the Ramayan. Composed by Maharshi Veda Vyasa, it narrates the story of Kuru dynasty, especially the struggle between two groups of cousins in the Kurukshetra War and the fates of the Kaurava and the Pandava princes and their successors. Through these narrations, the text provides deeper insights into the human condition and imparts profound philosophical, ethical, and spiritual teachings. It is considered as the longest poem ever written.
