Life a Game

Biting my nails, I watched as a wonderful captain led his team to a fitting victory. People spoke about the game, the cool captaincy, the team work and all! But I saw how a choice was made in the so called chance! Life gives us all, choices and not chances! It was pure Vedanta executed with finesse on the cricket ground. It was not skill, it was not talent, it was objectivity par excellence!!

Nail-biting finishes don’t just belong to sports, but to all those who choose to master the art of living life and live it on their terms. It may sound pompous, it may sound impossible, it may sound egoistic even, but then that is the pleasure of living life using the intellect.

Look at sports carefully! It is where you need to train hard, take direct responsibility, take instant decisions, play it right, display sportsmanship, play in a team and WIN!!

In life those who win or in other words are materially or spiritually successful are those who train hard or fortify their intellect by gaining spiritual knowledge and introspection. Need to take responsibility for the mistakes we make on the way. Take decisions with confidence and courage in and through all life’s challenges. Be straightforward to ourselves. Know when to appreciate others and accept defeat gracefully. Remember that we are but spokes in the larger wheel called life. So play in a team and as a team. When all these aspects of life are taken care of, we have to win.

Life’s lessons are all but learnt through life around us.

Like Mohammed Ali says,

“I hated every minute of training, but I said ‘Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion!’”
